About Me

My name is Marcos Andrés Alberto Reyes Martínez — a bit too long to fit on a business card — so I go by "Markus". It's a common enough name that I feel comfortable using it as a handle for my online presence. I am a full-cycle software developer Software Developer with a passion for building web, mobile, and desktop applications. I enjoy working on projects that challenge me to learn new technologies and improve my skills.

I work on private projects for clients, building CRM, ERP Business Software, and other business software. It's a rewarding experience, but the hardest part is understanding the business needs and translating them into software solutions. I am always looking for new opportunities to collaborate on interesting projects and contribute to the open-source community. Open Source

Working Working — I started working at a school — not the same one where I wrote that .vbs script, by the way — building a CRM + SaaS school management platform. I'm also working on a personal project, a SaaS for managing e-commerce stores E-commerce SaaS.

First Script I wrote my first .vbs script — a simple "troll" script to shut down the Windows computers at my school. I got banned from using the school computers, lmao.
Fun Facts
Banned from School Computers... then admin In primary school, I was banned from using the school computers for writing a simple .vbs script that shut them down. Now I'm the admin of the school's network and servers Administrator — and I'm the one banning students who try to hack the school computers. Prohibition Button
Bye bye Windows, Hello Unix In 2024, midway through my degree, after a tense situation and a failed first attempt with Ubuntu Ubuntu, I gave it another shot — but this time with more thought. The change was radical: the optimization, the experience, everything. I was learning it all — the terminal, commands, the filesystem, the philosophy behind it. I finally understood what a kernel really is, what Unix is, the difference between Linux and Windows NT, what GNU/Linux means, and more. I was learning, and I was loving it. I was finally free from the chains of Windows, and I was ready to embrace the power of Unix. Embrace Unix
Then Linux, Now Darwin Linux Linux is unique, great, and powerful, but I wanted to try something new, something different. Philosophy matters, but you also need to get things done at work, so I decided to buy an Intel MacBook Air 2017, the A1466 Apple — and I was amazed: the experience, the optimization, the performance, the battery life, everything. Then I bought a Mac Mini M1, and I was amazed again: the experience, the optimization, the performance, the energy efficiency, everything. Finally, I bought a MacBook Neo, the "iPhone" of laptops, and I was amazed all over again. For day-to-day use, I'd definitely go with a Mac; it's second to none for work. But for the real me — the sysadmin, the hacker, the tinkerer, the one who loves to explore and learn — Linux is still my first love. I'll always have a special place in my heart for both Linux and Darwin. By the way, who the hell is this "Windows" guy?
Always Learning "There is knowledge that is not power" - Ralph Waldo Emerson. I am always learning, always exploring, always tinkering. I am a lifelong learner, and I will never stop learning. I am a hacker, a tinkerer, a sysadmin, a developer, a student, a teacher, a mentor, a friend, a human being. I am Markus. AstronautMarkusDev. Always Learning
